── A Meeting in the Classroom in 2022
Haruna Hanán, it has been a long time. Welcome back to TUFS!
Hanán Thank you. During my stay at TUFS in 2022, I took your courses related to international relations as well as Japanese language classes. TUFS did not have many students from sub-Saharan Africa at that time
Haruna Yes, your arrival at TUFS was even noted on the university homepage. (*1)How have you been since returning home?
Hanán After graduating from the University of Pretoria, I started working at a law firm while studying for the bar exams. I am happy to share the news that I was finally admitted as an attorney this spring.

──The Philosophy of Ubuntu
Hanán I brought a gift from South Africa today: a book introducing the Xhosa term Ubuntu to the world. It represents the philosophy that "a person is a person through other persons".
Haruna What a wonderful gift. This philosophy is at the basis of harmony in cultural diversity, on which TUFS places high value.
Hanán The book also mentions an African proverb: "nobody knows everything but everyone knows something". I wanted to introduce everyone to this indigenous idea that is widely shared in Afric.
── Toward a Future of Harmony
Haruna Now that you have become an attorney, what are your goals for the future?
Hanán I am now planning to study human rights law at graduate school.
Haruna We at TUFS aim to make contributions to the creation of a future filled with people like you, Hanán, who share the philosophy of Ubuntu and are versed in the norms and ideas necessary for multicultural peace and harmony.
