[Report] Two TUFS students have started the exchange program at SU (South Africa)
Hinano Kurebayashi, a third-year student of African major, and Yuki Fukuoka, a fourth-year student of African major, began their exchange program on July 17, 2023 at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. They will study at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences for about a year.
Stellenbosch University and our university entered into a MOU in 2020 and Hinano and Yuki are the memorable first students studying at Stellenbosch University as exchange students. We hope that their year will be fruitful through various encounters while studying at one of the top universities in South Africa. Here are the messages from Hinano and Yuki.
Message from Yuki
Hello. I am Yuki Fukuoka, a fourth-year student majoring in International Relationships at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
I am scheduled to study abroad for one year in South Africa, at Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Science.
It is truly an honor to be part of a pioneer of the student exchange program between our two universities, as the dispatch agreement was only established in 2020. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone at the IAfP Office, who provided grateful support in handling the dispatch procedures, interaction, and information, as well as to everyone at Stellenbosch University International for their significant assistance in hosting me.
As I embark on my study abroad journey in South Africa, I have set two goals for myself. The first is to become a “business professional contributing to Africa’s economic growth,” and the second is to become a “creator connecting Africa and Japan.” To achieve these goals, I intend to engage in studies focusing on “International Politics,” “African Regional Studies,” “Business Administration,” and “Arts” at Stellenbosch University.
I plan to report regularly on the progress of my study abroad experience, including details about my future goals through photo reports. For now, I am relieved to have safely arrived in South Africa.
I would like to express my best gratitude, and look forward to sharing my experiences with you. Related article of Yuki
