January 31, 2018

On the 21 st of November, TUFS received guests from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), a university located in the Canary Islands, a Spanish domain off the northwest coast of Africa, which is well-known as a popular resort and tourism destination.
Making the most of its location, ULPGC specializes in Marine Science and Tourism, but also offers humanities courses such as philology and translation studies. TUFS offers both a Spanish major through the School of Language and Culture Studies, and majors focused on Southwestern Europe, Latin America, and Africa through the School of International and Area Studies. Due to TUFS' strategic exchange relations with these areas, ULPGC is considering forming relations with TUFS.
At the meeting there were three attendees from TUFS, including TUFS Vice President Minoru Iwasaki, and four attendees from ULPGC, including ULPGC President Rafael Robaina Romero. The attendees exchanged information on TUFS and ULPGC and discussed student exchange possibilities between the two institutions.
