TUFS Students Ask for Donation to Victims of Typhoon Haiyan

December 5, 2014

During the university festival (November 20th to 24th), students engaged in VOLAS, a TUFS volunteer organization, and other volunteer activities called for donations to the Philippine victims of the devastating typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda. Following last year, they set a donation box at a stall organized by Filipino major students.
Involved in volunteer learning support at a Japanese learning school in Chofu City, two volunteer students recognized that there is still much to be done in the devastated area, though a year has passed since the tragedy.
The donations will be sent to the victims through ICAN, a non-profit organization based in the Philippines.
List of volunteer students engaged on the campaign:
Yuki Takase (Senior, Spanish major, volunteer at Chofu City Japanese school)
Mika Endo (Senior, Spanish major, volunteer at Chofu City Japanese school)
Minori Kida (Senior, Filipino major, executive of “Craft”, a circle which encourages international understanding in education)
