1. Kristang語は危機言語か？ユネスコの評価
言語が消滅の危機にあるという場合、言語人口をまず参考にすることが多い。しかし、話者数がある程度少なくとも必ずしも危機にあるというわけではない。アマゾン川流域に孤立した生活を営む「ピダハン」と呼ばれる人々は、300人程度の話者数でも完全に完結した生活圏内で言語・文化が伝承されてきた。（もっとも、ブラジル政府の少数民族支援の様々な方策により開発と「文明開化」が急激に進む現在は、危機にある言語と言ってもよいだろう。）
下の図4は、ユネスコが定義した危機言語の評価基準（EGIDS）によるKristang語の位置づけである。赤い点の位置は、8aから9の「死にかけている」という評価となっている[10]。

6. ポルトガル系言語・地域社会の比較研究へ
6.1. ポルトガルの Heritage:３つの地域の比較研究
ポルトガルが旧アジア植民地に残した遺産（Heritage）は大きくまとめて3つの地域に集約される。なかでもマカオの社会学的、言語社会学的な観察を現地調査を元に続けている内藤理佳氏は「アジアのポルトガル人子孫コミュニティの歴史と現状 ―マカオ・マラッカ・スリランカの事例から ―」 の中で[11]、類似性のなかでも著しい差異をそれら3つの地域の間に認めようとしている。
本稿ではそのような現地情報に乏しい資料の中で、将来の比較研究に備えて、当面、マラッカのケースのみを上げておこう。連携協力により、少なくともマラッカとマカオについては2点観測が可能ではないかと期待する。従って当面は、以下の表ではマカオについてはあえて記入しないこととする。

7. 現地研究者との連携協力の期待
以下に富盛が2014年11月25日にJoan Marbeck氏に送付した連携についての提案の骨子をここに紹介し、今後の研究協力につなげたい。

Let me make some propositions:
1. to launch a scientific research cooperation link, creating a kind of international study group of Eurasian Studies (including Japan)
2. to look for a or several grant aids to promote its activities.
3. to have an international meeting or a symposium to exchange local studies and to publish its attainments.
4. to keep contact with academic and scientific societies of relevant countries.
The objectives of our project consist of
1. The linguistic documentation, and descriptive study of language contact involving languages of European origin (LEO) in South-East Asia. This would include the study of deriving linguistic variations of local languages and overlapped languages of LEOs over several centuries. In this preliminary phase, our research project, in its out-reach, would identify the characteristic [salient?] properties of the historical and cultural environment of South-Eastern Asia.
2. Particular focus on the geo-linguistic areas of greatest importance to the study, namely the Kristang language in Malaysia, and other Portuguese- and Spanish-based Creole languages in Macao, the Philipines and Vietnam (FRENCH-DERIVED CREOLES IN VIETNAM?). This will enable an analysis of the issues of linguistic and cultural legacy today in the communities that have inherited these languages.
3. The identification, with the collaboration of local researchers and relevant native speakers (AND ALSO COMMUNITY LEADERS, INSTITUTIONS AND CULTURAL 'STAKE-HOLDERS', e.g. - in the case of Kristang, SAFTEA and Mrs S. de Costa?), of the dominant factors determining the possibilities for valorisation, maintenance, and revitalization of linguistic and cultural legacy in those same communities. To this end, we will examine [PAST AND PRESENT] initiatives towards the implementation of Kristang-language education, as well as the influence of cultural activities on attitudes towards, and use of, that language.
8. Kristang語の復活に向けて：「目覚めよ！Kristang語！」運動
Marbeck氏からの情報で、Kristang語の話者数がごく少数のシンガポールで、若い研究者・活動家がいることを知った。筆者はまだ会う機会をもてていないが、このKevin Martens Won氏は2014年にシンガポールで 14人のネイティブ話者から聞き取りを始めた、という。当時シンガポール国立大学在学中で、みずから母語ではないもののKristang語を習得し高度に習熟していると見受けられる。すでに、Kristang語講習会を開催している他、各種の文化活動を展開している。
とりわけ2017年5月にはシンガポールにおいて、彼のグループはKristang語・文化の保存・復興に向けて大きなイベントを企画していると公表しており、Marbeck氏はじめ現地のKristang語復興運動関係者は大きな期待を寄せている。特にKevin M. Won氏とその仲間たちの熱意と持続的な活動に注目したい。消滅の危機に瀕していると認定されているとは言え、若い世代の働きが趨勢を変革する力となることへの希望を持ち続けたい。

9. まとめ：本科研から研究展望へ
3年間の研究期間の間に多くの反省材料があるが、以下では、今後の研究の進展にとって望ましい事項を箇条書的に記しておきたい。
(1) 現地の動向と距離を置かないこと：研究と継承活動への部分的参加
(2) 研究情報の収集と公開：データベース化とアーカイブ構築
(3) 可能な限りフィールド調査に赴く：言語記述の研究はすでに手遅れか？
(4) 学際的な研究分野を開拓する：持続的な研究継続
(5) 研究集会の開催と成果公開：Webサイトの構築と持続
