Since 2017, the students of African Studies Course, TUFS, plan and organize the event called "African Weeks". The catchphrase of the event is "Africa That You May Not Know".

We had TICAD 7 this summer at Yokohama, and Africa has raised much more attention from worldwide as "Last Frontier". However, some people still consider it as "poor" or "the countries which need aid". The students of African Studies Course are learning about African countires in their courses, communicating with people from African countries, and some of them have actually visited some African countries. They will share how attractive African countries, people, cultures are especially with those who have negative images on Africa.

All of the events are open to public, and admission is free. We look forward to your participation!
