自己紹介 / Biography

専門は翻訳研究、世界文学論、ジェンダー研究です。文学は異なる世界の文化、歴史、感性、特異性、世界観などを知るための「一つ」の手段に過ぎませんが、それは、きわめて有効な方法と言えます。他文化の集合体となる世界文学を理解するとは、母語の束縛から生じる先入観から解放されることを意味します。学生さんにはより広い世界の中に住んでみること、および、母語のもつ世界の外を見ることの重要性を認識してもらいたいです。
Dan Shao received her Ph.D. degree in contemporary literary studies from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 2019. She is now a full-time lecturer at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Her research interest includes feminist translation, genealogy of women writers in East Asia and common themes in women's literature.
