自己紹介 / Biography

大学生時代にワークキャンプ活動を通じてフィリピンの人びとの優しさに感激し、フィリピンを大好きになりました。専門はフィリピン地域研究、（解釈主義的）政治学だけど、文化人類学のファンでもあります。スラムの住民、露天商、性的少数者、ハンセン病者など周縁化された人々の経験と世界観から、政治や社会について考えてきました。最近は、経済成長のなかで、フィリピンの人びと、社会、政治がどのように変化してきたのかに関心をもっています。
During my university years, I participated in work camp activities and was deeply moved by the kindness of the Filipino people, which led me to fall in love with the country. While my areas of expertise are Philippine studies and interpretivist political science, I am also an enthusiast of cultural anthropology. I have explored politics and society by examining the experiences and worldviews of marginalized groups—such as slum dwellers, street vendors, sexual minorities, and people affected by Hansen's disease. Recently, I have been interested in how the people, society, and politics in the Philippines have changed amidst the economic growth.
