自己紹介 / Biography

専門は中世の英語で、主に古英語と呼ばれる時代(大まかに言って、英語がノルマン征服を経て大きく姿を変える前)の文献を研究しています。語学・文学の垣根を越えて、特に資料の原本(写本と呼ばれる手書きの書物)の調査を大切にしています。授業では、英語がどのように変化してきたかを検討したり、中世の英文学を楽しく読んだり、英語の歴史にかかわる幅広い内容について、みなさんと一緒にじっくりと考えていきたいと思います。海外では以下の通りロンドンに拠点を置いて研究をしてきました。
