　Geological Power of Science: V. I. Vernadskii's Philosophical Legacy on Conceptualizing the Biosphere, the Sole Foundation of the Public Spheres

概要：
　The concept of the biosphere is undeniably integral to modern global ecology, and geochemistry and biogeochemistry underpin this concept. This paper examined the unique and still veiled scientific thought of Vladimir Ivanovich Vernadsky (1863-1945), a pioneer in conceptualizing global nature and systematizing new scientific disciplines in the first half of the 20th century. An outstanding historian at the time, Vernadsky intended an epistemological turn in the image of global nature. Based on the historical principles he had gathered about science and scientific thought, he stated that revolutionary changes could be brought about through a more thorough scientific exploration of the biosphere. His description of the so-called "noosphere" (Ноосфера) is also based on his own scientific consideration of human scientific thought. This paper also considers the as yet unexplored ideological forces latent in Vernadsky's philosophical works.
