The 3rd Research Seminar, "Contrastive Study for Japanese and Other Languages"- Report

Research Seminar (Dec 18, Institute of Language Research, Research and Lecture Building) The Contrastive Japanese Division organized the 3rd Research Seminar, "Contrastive Study for Japanese and Other Languages" and invited Professors Nam Yunjin and Toshihiro Takagaki from TUFS, and Professor Masaru Inoue from NINJAL to make presentations. Prof. Nam and Prof. Takagaki compared the similarities and differences between Japanese and their respective research languages, Korean and Spanish, from the perspective of contrastive linguistics. Prof. Inoue used specific examples from Japanese, Chinese and Korean to explain his opinions on how contrastive research should be carried out. About 40 participants attended and contributed actively to the discussions.
