【Student Manual】What To Do If You Have Symptoms of COVID-19

Follow the guidelines below if you have a fever or symptoms of COVID-19. Please monitor your health as much as possible, and measure your body temperature every morning.

1.First day of symptoms

If you have any symptoms such as a fever, cough, general malaise/fatigue, or a body temperature of over 37.5 °C (even without other symptoms):

(1) If you have mild symptoms, including fever, please rest at home. Please avoid nonessential outings.

Even if your symptoms are not so severe, you can consult a specialized "Returnee / Contact Consultation Center" *.

(2) If you are experiencing extreme malaise/fatigue or breathlessness (dyspnea) alongside a fever, have an underling condition such as diabetes, heart failure, respiratory illness, are on dialysis, immunosuppressant or anticancer medication, or are pregnant, please call the “Returnee and Contacts Consultation Center” .

(3) If you have an underlying disease, please consider consulting your doctor.

(4) If you have severe symptoms, including fever, please consult your family doctor or a nearby medical institution by phone, depending on your symptoms (you may have an illness that needs to be treated, including infectious diseases).

After this, please take your temperature twice a day (morning and night), and record this alongside any symptoms you have.

2.Until three days after symptoms appear

1) If symptoms such as fever, cough, and malaise/fatigue continue:

Follow steps 1. (1),(2), (3) of the “first day of symptoms” guide, as written above.

2) If your physical condition, including symptoms such as fever, cough, and general malaise, has completely recovered without taking any medication:

Continue to avoid nonessential outings. Please try to prevent infection by wearing a face mask, frequently washing your hands, and avoiding contact with others.

3.Four days after symptoms appear

1) If symptoms such as fever, cough, and malaise/fatigue continue for four days (including if you need to keep taking fever medication):

Please consult your area’s "Returnee and Contact Consultation Center" .

In addition, if you visit a hospital or clinic, please wear a face mask, thoroughly wash your hands and practice cough etiquette - make an effort to avoid spreading the infection.

2) If your physical condition has completely recovered without taking any medication:
