Basic Agreement on Collaboration and Cooperation Signed with Japan Post

TUFS signed a basic agreement with Japan Post on April 1, 2024, to promote mutual cooperation and collaboration.

This agreement is a development and reinforcement of the agreement regarding joint training between the women's track and field team of the Sports & Communication Department of the company and our university’s track and field team, and was concluded for the purpose of contributing to the local community, promoting international cultural exchange and sports exchange, etc.

We plan to jointly hold sporting events and other events for TUFS students, faculty, staff, and community members, dispatch athletes and staff instructors, promote exchange, and provide opportunities for exchange between foreign athletes, TUFS students and others.

Following the signing of this agreement, on Friday, April 19, Mr. Makoto Sakurai, Executive Officer of Japan Post, Mr. Takeshi Chiba, General Manager of the Sports & Communication Department, Mr. Masahiko Takahashi, Director of the Women's Track & Field Team, Ms. Yuki Saito, Chief Coach, Ms. Ayuko Suzuki, Track & Field Athlete, and Ms. Kariba Caroline Wanjiku, a new member of the team, from Japan Post, and Mr. Kazunari Yaguchi, Director of Fuchu-Nishifu-cho Post Office paid a courtesy visit to President Kayoko Hayashi and other members.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the intermediate level Swahili language class (taught by Associate Professor Daisuke Shinagawa) and the university sports grounds. In the Swahili class, Ms. Kariba from Kenya interacted with the students in Swahili.
