Ambassador of Uzbekistan Visits TUFS

On Thursday the 15th of October, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Mr. Gayrat Ganievich FAZILOV, payed a courtesy visit to TUFS and met with Vice President MATSUKUMA Jun.
As October 21st marks the anniversary of granting the Uzbek language the status of state language, Ambassador Fazilov visited TUFS -the only institution in Japan which provides specialized Uzbek language education. Ambassador Fazilov donated Uzbek dictionaries to TUFS and expressed his continued support of TUFS’ Uzbek language education.
Ambassador Fazilov also observed an Uzbek language class and gave words of encouragement to the students.
TUFS has a long history of exchanges with Uzbekistan, including student exchanges, ever since the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies became a TUFS partner institution in 1997. Discussions are underway regarding the establishment of an overseas branch of TUFS at this university in the future.
