Fall Quarter Kicks Off with Both Online and In-person Classes

October 1, 2020

On Thursday, October 1, 2020, the fall quarter began with some classes held in-person.

In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, TUFS conducted all classes in the spring quarter and most classes in the summer quarter online.

Although many classes in the fall quarter will continue to be offered online, 27% of the classes will be held face-to-face.

This may be the first time for some of the first-year students to come to campus since taking their entrance examinations. To commemorate the first face-to-face assembly, some major language courses held a mini-entrance ceremony.

To ensure that students can attend classes safely, we are taking measures to prevent infection as well as droplet transmission, such as enforcing temperature checks upon entering the building, hand hygiene and mask requirements.

To prevent infection, the entrance and exit has been separated and a thermography camera has been installed.
Some classes are now being held in-person.
Students have the option to take online classes on-campus.
