Poland National Reading 2019 Held at TUFS

On Tuesday the 10th of December, the ‘Poland National Reading 2019’ was held at TUFS, during which Polish writer Eliza Orzeszkowa’s short story ‘Dobra Pani’ (1888) was read aloud in Polish.
Every year since 2012, with the support of the Polish president and first lady, a work of Polish literature is chosen through an online national referendum and read aloud inside and outside of Poland in an event called ‘National Reading’ (Narodowe Czytanie).
This event is also held at TUFS every year, and is jointly-sponsored by the Polish Cultural and Information Center in Tokyo. This year’s event marked the fourth time a National Reading was held at TUFS. As guest reader for this year’s event, TUFS invited Elżbieta Milewska, wife of the Ambassador to the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tokyo.
