For TUFS’ selected program, TUFS and the Central European University (Hungary) will act as coordinating institutions and work together to create and implement an international consortium. This program will also offer a new master’s double degree program titled “History in the Public Sphere (HIPS)”. This program aims to foster human resources who can successfully mediate dialogue between the past and present in areas of the public sphere including politics, economics and social life, and cultivate global human resources who can work on the international stage. TUFS also aims to strengthen the global development capabilities of academic education.

Master’s students in this program will learn theory, put this into practice and deepen their international relations through studying at each of the universities of the consortium. Through this, students will cultivate the ability to utilize history of public value in modern society based on a wide range of expertise.

TUFS intends to prepare this program for 2020 April entrants, who will be dispatched abroad in fall of the same year.

Head of Project: Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Director of the Institute of Global Studies, Professor AOYAMA Toru
