TUFS President Tateishi Signs Magna Charta Humanitatum

On Wednesday the 28th of November, TUFS President Tateishi signed the “Magna Charta Humanitatum” at the University of Salamanca (Spain).
This charter is an agreement to promote the humanities by bonding institutions where humanities are highly esteemed. It was proposed to the world by the University of Salamanca (which recently celebrated its 800th anniversary) to recognize outstanding achievements in the humanities so far while also highlighting the current situation.
President Tateishi attended the Japan-Spain University Presidents’ Joint Symposium (at the University of Salamanca), which was held on Tuesday the 27th and Wednesday the 28th of November. This conference was also attended by many other university presidents such as President Hisataka Moriwaki of Gifu University and President Akihiro Sashi of the Kobe City University of Foreign Studies. President Tateishi signed the charter in the Paraninfo (a special building used for important ceremonies) of the University of Salamanca.
