Risa Uesugi's Comments on Receiving the Award

I recited the poem "Hồn Quê (The Heart of Hometown)" by Hảo Trần. I was able to recite the poem with all my heart, overlapping the author's nostalgic feelings for the countryside with my own feelings after coming to Tokyo from the countryside. As face-to-face classes started in the fall, it was hard to practice with so many new things happening in my life, but I am very happy that I was able to deliver a reading that I was proud of, and also that I received first place. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my teachers for their careful guidance, my friends and seniors for their support, and the people at Kanda University of International Studies for organizing the event in a new online format. Thank you very much.
