Three students belonging to the TUFS Cheerleading Club, RAMS, have been chosen to represent Japan in the 10th Cheerleading World Championships. These three students are UENO Yuki (School of Language and Culture Studies, Spanish language studies, fourth year), SUZUKI Kensuke (School of Language and Culture Studies, Russian language studies, fourth year) and ICHIKAWA Takahiro (School of International and Area Studies, Southwest European studies/French language studies, second year). The Championships will be held on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of November at the Takasaki Arena in Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture.
The three students will compete in the national team’s mixed gender division, for which they have been practicing and participating in training camps all around the country since September. After a few more camps, they will head to the championships in Takasaki.
Ready for the Championships
Thanks to the support of many people, I was able to make it this far. I feel a great deal of pride and responsibility in representing Japan, and I hope to try my best to live up to the expectations of the people around me. I intend to show my gratitude to everyone through our performance, results and by grabbing the title of best in the world. Thank you for your support.
Because of the support from the people around me, my efforts have been fruitful and I was chosen for the national team. I will appreciate the environment around me, become one with my team, and bring back first place! I hope to see supporters from TUFS at the championship.
This is my first time on the national team, and I am still fumbling around a bit, but I am working hard with my upperclassmen and coach, so no matter what we will win first place! Please come out to support us at the Championships.
