Students Discuss Volunteering and Inbound Tourism with Mayor of Fuchu

On Thursday the 19th of July, a ‘Talk with the Mayor Session’ was held at TUFS between Mr. Norio Takano, mayor of Fuchu City, and seven TUFS students. At this session, discussion revolved around volunteer activities and inbound promotion in preparation for next year’s Rugby World Cup and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics/Paralympics.
Attending this session were students who volunteered as language supporters at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic/Paralympic Games and last year’s Australian baseball team cultural exchange event. Students who provide learning support for foreign children at the Fuchu International Salon also participated. The session was very productive, with students exchanging opinions based on their own volunteering experiences.
