International Exchange Soft Volleyball Event held at TUFS

On Saturday the 16th of June, the student organization TOFSIA (Tokyo University of Foreign Studies International Association) held an ‘International Exchange Soft Volleyball Event’.

TOFSIA is a student organization that aims to increase interaction between international exchange students and regular students at TUFS. TOFSIA usually holds two parties a month, and sightseeing trips to places such as Asakusa, but this was the first sports-related event they have ever held.

When asked why they decided to participate, one exchange student said ‘I only just came to Japan and my Japanese isn’t very good, so I thought maybe I could make some Japanese friends through playing sports’. While the event had an awkward start, in the latter half of the event, participants started scoring, and everyone was high-fiving and having fun.

At the end of the event, the exchange students and regular students exchanged contact details, making for a successful event.
