Message from TUFS President

April 12, 2021

The new semester starts today, but simultaneously, the “Stronger Measures to Prevent the Spread of Infectious Virus” is now in effect for one month at Fuchu-shi, Tokyo. At TUFS, there have been no cases of infection on campus since last October. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our students who had followed the instructions and requests issued by the university and for their careful behavior.

Under the “Stronger Measures to Prevent the Spread of Infectious Virus,” TUFS will further implement thorough infection control and maintain the mixed format of face-to-face and online classes. We also plan to continue allowing extracurricular activities by further strengthening infection control. However, to make such possible, we all need to be more cautious than before.

We would like to ask you once again to continue the “New Normal (lifestyle)” we acquired so far, i.e., wearing masks, washing hands and disinfecting, avoid the three Cs, eating in silence, and avoid eating with large groups and working part-time in high-risk places. On the other hand, under the current situation, no matter how cautious we are, we cannot totally avoid the risk of being infected. If you are not feeling well, please stay home. If you had taken a PCR test, please make sure to notify the university. Most important is to prevent the outbreak of the cluster. We would sincerely appreciate your cooperation.
