Concerning the Passing of Oyama Satoshi

　I am deeply angered and saddened by the incident that took place in Kawasaki City on May 28, 2019. I would like to express my condolences and sympathy to those affected by this incident.
　I am regretful to report that amongst the victims was TUFS alumnus OYAMA Satoshi, a great man who graduated from the TUFS Department of South East Asian Studies with a major in Burmese language in March 2003 and went on to become the Myanmar specialist for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Oyama thought greatly of the students at TUFS, and continued to actively participate in school events after graduation.
　I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved. May Mr. Oyama’s soul rest in peace.
