January 9, 2018

On Friday the 10 th of November, a 'TUFS Global Community Meeting' (a gathering of TUFS alumni and current students spread around the world) was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This meeting was held to coincide with TUFS President Tateishi visiting Ho Chi Minh City for the 3rd Silk Road Universities Network's general meeting.

Aside from President Tateishi, TUFS attendees included Vietnamese language lecturer Munehiro Nohira (Institute of Global Studies, Vietnamese Literature), and from the Gaigokai Ho Chi Minh City branch there were six participants, including graduates of the Osaka University of Foreign Studies. Including the four students on exchange in Vietnam from TUFS, there was a total of 14 people in attendance.

At the event, there was much discussion on current affairs and daily life in Vietnam, language acquisition, and the ideal TUFS alumni 'image' between the alumni working at local and Japanese companies in Ho Chi Minh City. Students currently on exchange in Vietnam could be seen receiving advice from their upperclassmen, and the event was lively from beginning to end.
