GJO Established at Leiden University in the Netherlands

On Friday the 1 st of September, TUFS opened a Global Japan Office at Leiden University (in the Netherlands), and on the 23 rd of October a signboard hanging ceremony was held.
From TUFS, besides Professor Sho Hagio from the President's Task Force (International Affairs), and Professor Nobuaki Kondo from the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa, the GJO Coordinator Yuri Oyama, administrative staff members and students on exchange at Leiden University also attended the ceremony. From Leiden University, the ceremony was attended by head of the Japanese Studies Program, Professor Ivo Smits, Chair of the MA Program in Asian Studies and former visiting professor at TUFS, Professor Ethan Mark, and head of the Language Section in Japan Studies, Professor Keiko Yoshioka.
At the ceremony, speeches were given by both Leiden University's Professor Ivo Smits, and TUFS' Professor Sho Hagio, which was followed by the hanging of the GJO sign. This GJO will mainly focus on activities that support the promotion of Japanese language and culture, and will also act as an internship location for TUFS students.
