International Students Received as Part of the Reinventing Japan Project (Latin America)

As part of the Reinventing Japan Project, a collaborative initiative between TUFS, the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), and the University of Electro-Communications (UEC) and "Co-Creative Education Program of Humanities and Sciences to Solve Global Issues Confronting Japan and Latin America (La-Cep)", a total of 26 international students were received from Latin American partner universities, and an opening ceremony took place on Monday 26 ^th November 2016.

The international students participated in a month-long integrated course of Japanese language and Current Japanese studies. Aside from taking lessons, the students took field trips to the Edo-Tokyo Museum, the Life Safety Learning Centre, and the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan Mitaka Campus. They also took part in lessons on Japanese history and culture, gaining a basic knowledge for staying in Japan. Their results were announced at the Japanese Language Final Presentation Meeting on Friday 23 ^rd September.

In the next six months to one year, the students will be engaging in coursework in their respective fields at one of the three universities.
