2019 Rugby World Cup Lecture held at TUFS

July 18, 2017

On Friday 7 th July, general manager for the 2019 Rugby World Cup Organising Committee, Koji Tokumasu, held a lecture at TUFS titled 'Rugby World Cup 2019: Large-Scale Sports Tournaments and International Relations ~ Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan and TUFS.'

During the lecture, there was discussion about volunteering at sports tournaments, and Tokumasu encouraged students studying foreign languages or international relations to volunteer as language volunteers at international events such as the Rugby World Cup.

A variety of students attended the lecture, including members of the rugby club here at TUFS, and many stayed behind afterwards to ask questions and chat with Tokumasu.

The 2019 Rugby World Cup will be held in 12 stadiums from Hokkaido to Kyushu, boasting 48 matches over 7 weeks. Here at TUFS we intend to hold many more lectures like this one in order to help gather and train volunteers for international events such as the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
