Directors of Camões Institute for Cooperation and Language Visit TUFS

On Friday, May 29th, Ana PaulaLaborinho, the director of Camões Institute for Cooperation and Language (IP) and His Excellency Mr. Francisco Manuel da Fonseca XAVIER ESTEVES visited TUFS and met with TUFS President Tateishi and professor Kurosawa.

The two guests attended a three-day international symposium “Multifaceted Japan: Past, Present and Future of Crossing Identities” held at TUFS and delivered a presentation: “Fernão Mendes Pinto and Japan”.

In the meeting, the director talked about a project to promote Portuguese language and culture conducted by IP. She spoke about the current status of elementary and secondary education for Portuguese children, which has been enhanced by expanding targets.

TUFS president Tateishi explained the university’s international strategy, referring to TUFS Global Offices that have been established around the world. The IP side expressed their will to support TUFS when the university set up such international projects in Portugal.
