Former Prime Minister Hatoyama Delivers Lecture at TUFS

On Thursday, April 23rd, the TUFS lecture series: "Modern Society and International Relations" was held. This lecture series is organized by the TUFS Institute of International Relations. This time, former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama delivered a lecture “How Japanese Diplomacy Should Be”.
In the lecture, the former PM talked about his insights into Japanese diplomacy. He emphasized the importance of diplomatic independence in terms of how to deal with America and China. At the same time, Hatoyama expressed expressed his hope that the formation of an East Asian Community would bring stability to the region. Almost 500 students listened intently to his speech.

Before the lecture, Hatoyama paid a courtesy call on TUFS President Tateishi.
