Re: the payment of commutation allowance in April
As you all know, the consumption tax in Japan will increase from 5% to 8% on April 1, 2014. Accordingly, transportation fee of the trains and buses will rise. Consequently, the amount of the commutation allowance paid from the university will increase in the following way.

For the payment of the commutation allowance in April (most of you who have started working in April are paid the commutation allowance in April and September, but there are some exceptions), the current amount of transportation fee will be paid along with the salary in April, and the increased amount will be additionally paid in May.

平成２６年４月給与時における通勤手当の支給について
平成２６年４月１日施行の消費税率引上げに伴い、多くの交通機関において運賃等の値上げが予定されています。

これに伴い、通勤手当についても増額改定を予定しておりますが、現時点において各交通機関の運賃額に対応した給与システムの導入が困難な状況にあります。
従いまして、平成２６年４月給与時に支給する通勤手当については、現行の額を支給し、翌月の平成２６年５月の給与支給時に増額分の差額を支給することといたします。
皆様方におかれましてはご不便をおかけいたしますが、何卒御理解、御協力の程お願いいたします。
なお、新しい運賃額の算定については、値上げ後の定期券、ICカード等の運賃等の額に基づき、最も経済的かつ合理的であると認められる通勤の経路及び方法により算出した通勤手当の額で支給することとなることを申し添えます。
