To all new and current international students who cannot enter Japan

March 23, 2020

♦To all new students entering TUFS from overseas

This year, as usual, TUFS will welcome many new undergraduate and postgraduate students. However, due to the COVID-19 coronavirus, it is becoming increasingly difficult for many students to come to Japan this April.
Just as the Student Exchange Division has informed you all, students who have completed the enrolment process, regardless of whether they are in Japan or not, will become TUFS students as of April 1.
TUFS has postponed the start of classes from April 6 to April 20. We ask that students follow the instructions sent to them, and register for the classes they wish to take. The University is currently undergoing preparations for online classes, so students who cannot enter Japan until after April 20 can still take classes from their home countries.
Please keep calm and prepare for your departure.

♦To current international students having trouble re-entering Japan

There are currently many students who have temporarily returned home and are now struggling to re-enter Japan.
TUFS has postponed the start of classes from April 6 to April 20. We ask that students follow the instructions sent to them, and register for the classes they wish to take. The University is currently undergoing preparations for online classes, so students who cannot enter Japan until after April 20 can still take classes from their home countries.
It is important that you communicate with and update the University about your situation. Please continue to communicate with your academic advisor and the Student Exchange Division.
I hope that the current situation will improve in the near future.
