2020 Entrance Ceremony Cancellation & Spring Quarter Changes

To all new students,
In order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, and in response to the delayed arrivals of international students in Japan, we have decided to postpone the start of classes at TUFS until April 20 (Mon). Alongside this, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Entrance Ceremony scheduled for April 4 (Sat). We regret that we cannot meet and celebrate your admission with you all, but from a health and safety perspective, this is the best decision moving forward. We appreciate your understanding.

To all parents and guardians of new students,
Previously it was announced that the 2020 Entrance Ceremony would be held with students only, but at this time we have decided to cancel the ceremony all together. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

April schedule changes for new students
In early April, online registration will begin, including online guidance and TOEIC testing. Please be sure to regularly check the TUFS website and the email address you registered through your entrance application.

To all current students
In order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, and in response to the delayed arrivals of international students in Japan, we have decided to postpone the start of classes at TUFS until April 20 (Mon).
Until then, we ask that students refrain from participating in all extracurricular activities, as right now is the most crucial period for preventing the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. It has been said that young people sometimes show no noticeable symptoms of the virus when infected, and so there is the possibility of infecting others without realizing. We ask that you please practice hand-washing and cough etiquette, and avoid places with poor ventilation, places where you are within 1-2 meters of other people, and conversations at short distances. This not only for your own benefit, but for that of the people around you, and that of society as a whole.
While the start of classes has been postponed, please listen to instructions from your department and academic advisors, and use your time until April 20 wisely.
