The purpose of our dynamic descriptive study consists, firstly, in understanding the nature of specific historical changes, over several centuries in South-east Asian area, of European languages, such as  Portuguese, Spanish, French, into regional individual languages  formed through linguistic and cultural contacts and hybrid mutations.
　In the second, we will pick up some regional languages showing remarkable linguistic properties among the South-east Asian languages in order to analyze the issues related to linguistic and cultural inheritance, with special regard to minority language problems. that are not limited to Asia languages, but would make us obtain a comprehensive social linguistic knowledge.
　Thirdly, sharing with local partners the vivid conscience of necessity of the efforts of preservation of linguistic and cultural legacy, we proceed to extract human and environmental requirements that might function efficiently even in a critical situation around minority languages in South-east Asia,
　These three challenges associated with the organic and dynamic analysis, would meet together to output our research results to the open public in Japan and abroad by way of research meetings and publication on the Web site.

FY2015　

(1) We dispatch our research delegation to relevant countries, such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Macau, to investigate socio-linguistic phenomena of language contacts and the issues of inheritance. And by this scientific exchange, we will be able to have recent information collected from local researchers, and to assess the situation of each region to prepare for the planned execution of the next fiscal year, so as to set the priority of the urgency and importance.
 
(2) We will proceed to documentation of relevant reference books and materials related to our sphere of study, especially in the domains of sociological contact and hybrid phenomena of linguistic and cultural inheritance in South-east Asian countries. The documentation of this area will be important for our research, because there are many documents that are not in wide circulation, but only in particular limited areas.
 
(3) After reviewing the results of this survey research, we prepare presentations at scientific meetings and publish the primary results on the Web.

FY2016　　

(1) We shall continue to investigate with partner researchers in Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Macau. We plan this year to conduct questionnaire surveys with local traditional speakers of endangered tongues, including Kristang in Malasia. For this purpose we dispatch some researchers to the related regions, this year, focusing on the study of the minority language education and language policy of the target Asian countries.
 
(2) We continue to collect relevant reference books and teaching materials related to our research aims.
 
(3) The documentation of regional books and materials should be succeeded this year, since it will be also important because of the limited number of publication and will valorize our efforts of sharing information among the local and related personalities..
 
(4) We will organize scientific meetings on the subject and publish the results by our Web site.

FY2017　　

(1) In the last year of the program term, 2017, we will summarize the research activities of the past three years, as well as the results of our analysis of the obtained information about the interference phenomena of European languages involved in the formation of the South-east Asian regional languages.
 
(2) We will proceed towards the database construction for the purpose of sharing of research data that might contribute to the relevant academic fields.
 
(3) This year an international research meeting will be organized and carried out with our presentations of the obtained results and those by invited collaborators from abroad as well.
 
(4) In addition to our Web site, we will publish our research results at the meetings of domestic and international academic societies.
 
(5) We should assess our activities in order to design and promote our future research project.
