Ne čakaj na maj (Don't Wait Until May, internationally also released as Don't Whisper) is a 1957 Slovenian romantic comedy directed by František Čap. The film is the sequel to the beloved classic Vesna and continues the story of Vesna and Samo. As Vesna and her friends prepare for a winter holiday in the mountains, she looks forward to seeing Samo. However, he must take part in a mountain rescue training exercise. When Samo arrives by plane accompanied by the beautiful Zora, Vesna becomes jealous and upset. In the end, the misunderstanding is resolved, and Samo and Vesna take to the skies together, celebrating their love and the freedom of flight.
The Japanese subtitles for both Vesna and Ne čakaj na maj have been translated by our students of the Slovenian language, making these classic Slovenian films accessible to Japanese audiences.
