Visit from Rio de Janeiro Consulate Staff and Rio de Janeiro State University Faculty

On Friday, October 24, 2025, Cultural Advisor Gabriela Yussa, Consulate General of Japan in Rio de Janeiro, Cultural and Information Centre, and Associate Professor Satomi Takano Kitahara, Ph.D., Rio de Janeiro State University visited TUFS as part of a Ministry of Foreign Affairs training program.
Together with Vice President Chika Takeda, they observed Portuguese and Japanese language classes and later held a roundtable discussion with 16 Brazilian international students currently enrolled at TUFS.
They also met with Professor Ikuko Ijuin, Dean of the School of Japan Studies, to exchange views on the operation of the Dual Degree Program launched in 2025 between TUFS and Rio de Janeiro State University.
The visit concluded with a courtesy call to President Nobuo Haruna, where they discussed further strengthening academic exchange between TUFS, Brazil, and Rio de Janeiro State University. The discussions were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with highlights from current and former exchange students shared, and lively dialogue on future student mobility initiatives.
