October 27, 2025

On Monday, October 20, 2025, H.E. Mr. Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan, paid a courtesy visit to President Haruna. This visit was held in conjunction with Uzbek Language Day, celebrated annually in Uzbekistan on October 21.

Prior to the meeting, Ambassador Abdurakhmonov observed an Uzbek language class and offered words of encouragement to the students. During the class, students showcased their learning achievements through poetry recitations, presentations, singing, and performances on the traditional Uzbek instrument, the dutar.

The subsequent discussion between Ambassador Abdurakhmonov and President Haruna was joined by Associate Professor Shizuo Shimada and Associate Professor Satoru Kimura. The participants exchanged views on recent reforms in Uzbekistan’s education system, with particular attention to the growing emphasis on Japanese language education and its associated challenges. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral collaboration in a sustainable manner.

Our university shares a longstanding history of exchange with Uzbekistan. Currently, we continue active collaboration with institutions such as Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, based on international academic agreements that include student exchange and other joint initiatives.
