Trophy awarded to TUFS in commemoration of World Kiswahili Language Day

On Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Festival Station within the Osaka Expo site, a commemorative ceremony was held to celebrate World Kiswahili Language Day, as designated by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). In recognition of the contributions of TUFS to the promotion of the Swahili language, a trophy was awarded to our institution.
At the award ceremony, Associate Professor Daisuke Shinagawa of the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa, who teaches Swahili at TUFS, attended and received the trophy from His Excellency Baraka Haran Luvanda, the Ambassador of Tanzania to Japan.
