July 1, 2025
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, an online discussion with Ambassador Kerstin Pürschl, the German Ambassador to UNESCO, took place during the Global Liberal Arts Program's German III-6 course (Course title: “UNESCO and German World Heritage”, Thursday, 2nd period, Instructor: Associate Professor Christoph Hendricks). The discussion took place online, connecting the class with Paris, France, and lasted approximately 70 minutes, featuring an active exchange of opinions.
A student moderation team facilitated the discussion and many questions were raised about UNESCO's activities and the role of the UNESCO Ambassador. Students posed a series of questions to Ambassador Pürschl, including inquiries about UNESCO's activities, the role of a UNESCO Ambassador, her career as a diplomat, and Germany's World Heritage sites.
Through the dialogue, students gained a deeper understanding of the practical operations of international organizations and the current state of cultural heritage preservation, while also gaining a valuable opportunity to engage with the realities of diplomatic work.
