Opening ceremony for the “Warsaw: The Phoenix Rising from the Ashes” exhibition

On Monday, May 12, 2025, the opening ceremony for the “Warsaw: The Phoenix Rising from the Ashes” exhibition was held on the first floor of the Research and Lecture Building at our university. The exhibition was organized as part of the commemorative events for the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising and focuses on the history of Warsaw during the Second World War and its path to recovery.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Pawel MILEWSKI Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Japan and Deputy Director Paweł UKIELSKI of the Warsaw Rising Museum, who paid a courtesy visit. From our university, President Nobuo HARUNA, Executive Director Chika TAKEDA, Executive Director Takahiro KINOSHITA, Vice President Yoko KIKUCHI, and Associate Professor Koji MORITA attended. The event was moderated and interpreted by Lecturer Yumeko KAWAMOTO.
The exhibition vividly depicts the harsh history of Warsaw affected by the war and its revival from the ashes to become a modern city through photographs and documents. It will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays until Tuesday, June 10. We invite you to take this rare opportunity to explore the story of history and reconstruction.
