TUFS Programme Selected for Inter-University Exchange Project (Promotion of Inter-University Exchange in the ASEAN Region)

The 'TUFS Japan Specialist Program for the Enhancement of Japanese Language and Cultural Outreach in Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia' has been selected for The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's 2016 Inter-University Exchange Project (Type B: Promotion of Inter-University Exchange in the ASEAN Region).
This programme will be carried out in coordination with the long-time partners of TUFS and top-ranking universities in the ASEAN region, the University of Yangon, the National University of Laos, and the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
The programme will form a two-way exchange between students of Burmese, Lao, and Khmer at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and students of major universities in Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia who hold an interest in Japan and those with a strong desire to study Japanese. It is to
cultivate Japanese people well-acquainted with these three countries, as well as Burmese, Lao and Cambodian people with a strong command of Japanese and who understand Japanese society who will form a bridge between these nations and Japan. In addition, it will train human resources in Japanese and Japanese language education in Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.
