On Tuesday the 6th of February, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Honduras, His Excellency Mr. Héctor Alejandro Palma Cerna, visited TUFS upon taking up his position as ambassador to pay a courtesy call to TUFS President Hirotaka Tateishi.

This meeting was also attended by three other TUFS personnel, including TUFS Executive Director/Vice President, Minoru Iwasaki. A brief overview of TUFS and our projects related to Central and South America were introduced to Mr. Palma Cerna. Mr. Palma Cerna listened intently and showed great interest in our introductions of ‘Mundus Latinus in Japan’, an education and research network established in May 2015 that focuses on Spanish- Portuguese countries, and ‘A Co-Creative Education Program of Humanities and Sciences to Solve Global Issues Confronting Japan and Latin America (La-CEP)’, a program established in 2015 in cooperation with the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) and the University of Electro-Communications (UEC).

By the end of the meeting, it was confirmed that promotion of cultural exchanges between TUFS and Honduras could continue.
