Group of 20 Taiwanese Students Visits TUFS

February 27, 2015

On February 9th, 20 university students from across Taiwan visited Tokyo University of Foreign Studies as part of a winter camp organized by Interchange Association, Japan. Participating students’ specialisms ranged from Japanese to numerous other subjects including management, economics, law and sociology. All listened intently to a presentation by the head of the International Center for Japanese Studies about the Center’s aims and activities. Students then split into 5 groups and were joined by 10 TUFS students (among them exchange students) to discuss the similarities and differences between Taiwanese and Japanese society and culture. Each group then presented the results of their discussions, which included such interesting topics as gender and the differing degrees of mutual interest between Taiwanese and Japanese society. The event thus proved highly meaningful in terms of student exchange.
