自己紹介 / Biography

本学の留学生日本語教育センターでは、文部科学省国費外国人留学生制度で世界各地の大使館推薦により採用された学生の予備教育を行っています。現在は文科系の国費学部留学生のみですが、2019年度までは、工学、医学、化学、その他様々な理科系の専攻の学生の教育も行っており、日本各地の大学・大学院に進み学位を取得した修了生たちが各界で活躍しています。この奨学金制度で学ぶために渡日した学生の初年度を、授業、相談、運営等で多面的に支援する仕事を担当しています。国費学部留学生に加え、これまでに同奨学金制度の研究留学生、教員研修留学生、そして、日韓共同理工系学部留学生のウェルビーイングを高める授業やセッション、プログラム運営も担当し、指導した学生の出身国は130カ国を越えました。

スマートフォンで学生が自分で情報収集する時代になる一方、心のセルフケアを支援していく必要を感じて、米国の大学で大学生・院生のために開発されたマインドフルネスのカリキュラム（Koru Mindfulness）を教える資格を取得して、学部で『大学生のためのマインドフルネス』という授業を担当しています。

子供の教育に携わる全ての方に贈るマインドフルネスの実用的ガイドブック、ケビン・ホーキンス著『マインドフルな先生、マインドフルな学校』の日本語訳が2023年3月に発刊されました。その第4章の翻訳を担当しました。

The Japanese Language Center for International Students at TUFS provides preparatory education for students who have been selected by recommendation of Japanese diplomatic missions around the world under the Japanese Government Scholarship Program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Until the 2019 academic year, the center had provided education not only for students majoring humanities and social sciences but also for students majoring in engineering, medicine, chemistry, and various other natural sciences, and graduates who have gone on to universities and graduate schools around Japan and obtained degrees are contributing in various fields. I provide multifaceted support for students who come to Japan to study under this scholarship program during their first year of study, including classes, consultation, and course management. In addition to the MEXT Undergraduate Students, I also taught classes and manage programs to enhance the wellbeing of MEXT Research Students, Teacher Training Students, and Japan-Korea Joint Undergraduate Science and Engineering Students, and have taught students from over 130 countries.

Through the expanse of technology makes it easier to access information, I feel the need to support students' mental self-care. To support students, I became the first certified teacher of Koru Mindfulness in Japan; it is an evidence-based curriculum specifically designed for teaching mindfulness, meditation, and stress management to college students and other young adults. The curriculum was developed at Duke University in the U.S.
My current interest is in investigating effective meditation practices for students from diverse cultural backgrounds who strive to adapt to Japanese society by going beyond cultures.
