[2010/11/25-26] The 2nd CAAS Symposium at INALCO

Consortium for Asian and African Studies (CAAS)
The 2nd International Conference
INALCO, 25-26 November 2010

inalco01.JPGThe 2nd international conference of the Consortium for Asian and African Studies (CAAS) was held at Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO), Paris, France, from the 25th to the 26th of November, 2010. CAAS consists of six world-leading research/educational institutions for Asian and African studies, and each institution is obliged to host annual conferences in turn. This 2nd conference was organized following the 1st conference held at Leiden University of the Netherlands last year.

Under the theme of "Migrations, Mobility and Globalization," 42 researchers from CAAS member institutions (INALCO, Leiden University, NUS, SOAS, Colombia University and TUFS) made presentations on their research. From TUFS, one professor and two young researchers, who had been dispatched to CAAS member institutions under JSPS International Training Program (ITP), participated in the conference.

It was not only a precious opportunity for the young researchers to exchange information with the world-class professors and other young researchers in the field, but also a stimulating opportunity to carry out their research further.

This conference was supported by JSPS International Training Program (ITP).
