Is this musical passage offensive to you or not?

Can you sing:

la la la la so _ so _ | mi _ mi _ so ____ |

What do you think of this musical passage?

Margaret Cho said:

"When you're Asian and you hear this, you know you're fxxxed."

For some people, it is a musical passage with the connotation of
ethnic discrimination towards Asian people.

Some people would think it sounds Asian, but don't take it
offensively.

Carl Douglas Kung Fu Fighting (Original Music Video)

has it dispersed everywhere during the song.
Kung Fu Fighting

SUPER BUTTER DOG - FUNKY OOLONG TEA
SUPER BUTTER DOG - FUNKY

does NOT exactly have the same musical passage,
but it has something similar to it.

It goes:

la la la la so _ so _ | mi _ mi _ re ____ |

It sounds like a tribute to the passage.

I am NOT offended. But I feel ill at ease.

It is not exactly same as:

la la la la so _ so _ | mi _ mi _ so ____ |

But it reminds you (some of you) of it.

It's like an Asian person called Ching Chang Chong by
a non-Asian person.

When I shared my ideas about this with my partner
he denied it completely.

I know how it worked with him (and with me).

When it comes to the signified (as opposed to the signifier)
of a sign and its associative,
he generally is very cautious.

One day, a gay guy shared a picture of rainbow
on Twitter.

I promptly imagined that he wanted to share the picture
of rainbow because it is a symbol of LGBT on top of
its beauty.

When I shared my thought with my partner,
he readily denied my "association" of rainbow and LGBT.

He remarked that the sharer shared the picture
only because it was beautiful.

Being cautious is good in some ways.

On the other hand, my prompt association of "signs"
can be good in some ways, but can be wrong sometimes.

In any case, I should be cautious about
sharing my "association" to my partner.
