PCS Course welcomes Prof. Sumie NAKAYA

We are happy to announce that Prof. Sumie NAKAYA joined our faculty on April 1, 2026.
Here is her message:

I am honored and thrilled to join the Peace and Conflict Studies. Upon obtaining a Ph.D. in Political Science at the City University of New York, I joined the United Nations and worked in the Departments of Peace Operations and of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, covering peacekeeping missions in Sudan and South Sudan and the work of the Security Council. I bring professional insights from the forefront of international relations to the study of international peace and security. I am particularly interested in new approaches and techniques, including digital tools for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to emergencies, ranging from armed conflicts to natural disasters. I look forward to meeting up on the TUFS campus!
