5月15日（土）に東京大学駒場キャンパスで芸能に関する若手研究者5名による発表会を行い、盛況のうちに終了いたしました。総勢41名の参加を頂けましたこと、大変感謝しております。内容の紹介については準備ができ次第ＵＰいたしますので、しばらくお待ちください。

第1回研究会

• 日時：2009年7月6日（月）18時半～
• 場所：東京外国語大学海外事情研究所
• 報告者：Anjali Bhatia(Lady Sriram College, Delhi University)
• 報告題目：”Feeding Brilliance: Thinking about a Middle Class Motherhood in Contemporary India”

1990年代以降、経済の自由化が急激に進むインドで注目されるミドル・クラスの自己認識/構築の諸相を「食」をめぐる実践の変容から探った。ミドル・クラスとしてのステータスを獲得・維持するために幼年期からの英語教育が必須とされるなか、子供たちに「ランチ・ボックス」を持たせる母親たちの行動を分析することによって「ミドル・クラス母性」とも名づけるべき現象を抽出した。

• 報告題目：Beyond the Coherence of the Identities : A reading of Imaiyam’s Sedal

1990年代にタミル語出版界に登場したダリト文学のなかで、イマイヤム作『セダル』を取り上げ分析した。多くのダリト作品がダリトのアイデンティティの単一性を強調する傾向にある一方で、『セダル』は、コミュニティ内部で多様なサブカーストやジェンダーが作用している様相を描き、単一的なアイデンティティの結束を否定している点で特徴的である。また、イマイヤムの作品はカースト・ナルシズムから距離を置き、サバルタン・コミュニティに自己批判の必要を訴えかけている点も重要であると報告者は強調した。

• 報告題目：”Gendered Lives and Myths: An Ethnographic Journey in Rajasthan”

1979年から継続的にフィールド調査を行ってきたラージャスターンの村の変容を、ジェンダーの観点から論じた。人類学者によるフィールド調査が内包する問題を認識しつつも、体験の「共有（share）」、「対象者」からの「学習」という可能性を指摘した。さらに、女神信仰と現実に生きる女性の地位との関連性、女子教育の持つ意味について論じられた。
