Urdu Natak Sabha Tokyo University of Foreign Studies in Pakistan, 2002-2003 (a brief report)
All of us arrived back safely at Tokyo on 10th of January bringing back a lot of wonderful memories of Pakistan with us. I and 18 students (14 girls and 4 boys, plus my begum Miharu who came only to Islamabad) had been in Pakistan from 23rd December 2002 to 10 January 2003 in order to perform an Urdu Drama Show (comprised of Kamikiri or traditional Japanese paper-cutting, Enka or Japanese contemporary love songs, Urdu Play "Naql-e Makaanii (House-moving)" written by Rajindar Singh Bedi, Original Urdu Comedy Skit "Gakko (Primary School)" and Japanese folk dances in yukata or Japanese casual kimono). We had 6 performances in all; 2 shows each in Karachi (Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture / IBA City Campus), in Lahore (Alhamra Hall 3 / Bokhari Auditorium, Government College University Lahore) and in Islamabad (Islamabad Club / National University of Modern Languages).
