The relationships between military and civilians deployed in Kosovo is an important case which indicates the relationships between military and non-military organizations in post-conflict societies. By focusing on Kosovo, this article analyzes the relationships between the military and civil organizations in post-war reconstruction. In the first section, this article goes through the Kosovo's political situation until the 1999 NATO's military intervention as well as international politics behinds Kosovo's situation. The second section describes the process in which the mandates of NATO were formed after the armed conflict. The third section overviews the civil-military relations brought by the NATO's intervention during the armed conflict, and their problems. Then, the fourth section describes the framework of the civil-military relations after the armed conflict. In the fifth section discusses the characteristics of the civil-military relations in stabilization phase. The last section points out the lessons learned from the civil-military relations in Kosovo.
